Steven Collins - Instructor

Steven joined White Cloud back in 2011 and worked his way through the ranks, obtaining his black belt in 2017.  He came to the Academy from a background grounded in weights and fitness training along with a little boxing, and uses this experience every time he puts a class through their paces.

Like all White Cloud Black Belts, Steven is trained in the internal arts, such as Tai Chi and Ba Gua, but his preferences lie in the more physical aspects of the White Cloud syllabus.  His previous boxing training set him in good stead to learn the Chinese Boxing and he soon showed an affinity for Wing Chun, choosing to teach this whilst a brown belt to prove himself ready to be a White Cloud instructor.

The White Cloud Martial Arts Academy is the original school founded in 1962 by Master Derek Gordon, passed directly to his highest ranked student Master Dave Cowell in 1994 and now training exclusively at St Bede's RC Sports College.  Over the years many instructors have been trained at the White Cloud Academy and several now run successful schools of their own.  However, although these instructors are White Cloud trained they are not recognised by the Academy and as such neither are any of their students.

The White Cloud Martial Arts Academy at St Bedes is not associated with any other school of Kung Fu and is the only place to learn the White Cloud Kung Fu system devised by Master Derek Gordon!
