Bagua Zhang
Ba Gua is a martial art based philosophically on the eight trigrams of the I Ching and physically on the circular pictogram that represents them. This fighting system is designed for combat against multiple opponents and emphasises the importance of footwork to the White Cloud student.
Through it's primary training method of 'circle walking' the study of Ba Gua will help the student develop flexibility in the hips and torso, powerful leg muscles and by constant practice of the intricate steps and sharp turns they will also acquire the skill to move around one opponent or weave between several.
Along with the physical aspect of 'mud walking' Ba Gua, for those who want it, also gives the more adept students a taste of the internal martial arts and allows them, with proper training, to generate power over short distances (Fa Jin) and optimise the strikes through correct alignment of the joints and limbs.
