3-Sectional Staff
The 3-sectional staff (San Jie Gun) is not a weapon for the faint hearted and is not taught to anyone who cannot demonstrate a high level of proficiency with the staff. Skill with a staff however is not enough to ensure success with the 3-sectional, unwavering self belief is also required, for anyone who fears their own weapon is likely to be struck by it.
Training with the 3-sectional begins by first applying what was learnt with the staff and then onto the more advanced techniques which rely on the weapon's flexibility to wrap it around the body before uncoiling to it's full length - making anyone who can master it a formidable opponent at any range.
For those who wish to progress further still their is the option of the 9-sectional whip (Jie Bian). A weapon consisting of nine steel bars chained together with a sharpened head at one end and is something which few people have seen and even fewer can use.
